Chamelaucium uncinatum- Geraldton wax – 14cm

Australian Native

Evergreen

Geraldton wax is an evergreen Australian native shrub in the Myrtaceae family, growing 2 to 4 m tall and 60 cm to 1 m wide. The dense foliage is aromatic when crushed, and the long-lasting waxy flowers appear from late winter into spring.

It works well as a feature shrub or screen, especially in areas with drier summers. Grow it in well-drained soil in semi shade. The standard pink form is hardier than the darker coloured varieties. A light trim after flowering keeps the plant dense. The flowers are also widely used as cut stems and as a backing flower in arrangements.
